Nowadays, getting food on the table is not as easy as it used to be. Different people have different food preferences, and preparing all of those meals is very time and energy consuming. This makes yours and my life very hard. Living with children of many ages in my family and cooking for all of them has always been a challenge. So, we are reviewing 5 Best 2 Liter Pressure Cookers.

Some don’t eat rice, and some don’t eat veggies.

What to do now? As a working woman, all I could do was take out fast food, which is not a healthy option.

We all need nutritionally balanced food, and time also plays the most important factor when cooking.

Although there is nothing new about the usage of pressure cookers, there is a reason why their resurfacing and are very popular with the newer generation.

Benefits of a Pressure Cooker:

As a busy person, pressure cookers have revolutionized my life and helped me in all the ways it could.

It definitely saves me in time of crisis, returns back the quality and nutrients of my food, and makes me want to cook more and more.

My life is now easier than ever, and now I put all my passion into trying out new recipes and different cookers.

Mechanism Behind Pressure cooking:

Pressure cookers normally work through the process of locking pressure or steam in the pot with an airtight lid.

The increased pressure creates steam from the broth or water in the pot and cooks your food very quickly as it reaches a high temperature faster than normal pots and pans.

As you don’t even cook your food for longer intervals, the nutrients remain safe and secure in your food.

Variants in Pressure Cookers:

Now, There are many pressure cookers available in the market, electric and manual, complex and easy, affordable and expensive, large and small.

Various sizes in pressure cookers are available both online and in markets, and you can choose what’s the best size for you, depending on your usage and the people you have to cook for.

They come in various ranges, from 1 quart to 20 quarts and sometimes even more than that.

I personally prefer a small pressure cooker which has 2 quart capacity.

It is perfect as I don’t have big batches of food to cook at a time, and they don’t even require much space for storage or on the cooktop (in case of manual).

My Top Choices for Two Quart Pressure Cookers:

When I go to a market or on amazon to find a pressure cooker, whether it is to gift someone or for personal usage, there are certain features that I’m sure to check out which will count as very important for long term usage.

These features help me in deciding the best pressure cooker.

Following are the features which I usually consider when buying a pressure cooker, online or offline:

  1. Electricity usage or gas usage.
  2. Burner compatible, if it’s friendly with glass range or gas stove top or both of these types.
  3. Budget friendly.
  4. Their capacity and the amount of food they’re able to cook in one go.
  5. Warranty.
  6. Reviews by other customers.
  7. Additional features like presets for electrical pressure and additional accessories for manual cookers.

I tried and tested several pots to buy the perfect 2 quarts pressure cooker for myself.

After considering all the above features, I rounded up a small list of the following pressure cookers, which worked the best for me and helped me immensely in reducing my work.

These 2 quart cookers will change your life if you have a small family.

They are easy to work with, fit within every budget, and are amazing in quality as pressure cookers are an investment.

You would want to use your pressure cooker for a long time, and I’m sure you will be pretty disappointed if they stop working properly in a few months.

To save yourself from all that mishaps and problems, you might need to give this a read and choose the perfect cute pressure cooker for all your kitchen needs.

  1. Prestige PRP2 Pressure Cooker, 2 L, Silver:

My first choice is the prestige pressure cooker which comes in a small 2 liter size, perfect for a small family. Prestige is a very renowned American brand, used globally and is known famously for its durability, fairly fast cooking, and its years long promise of performance.

This small and cute pressure cooker is a perfect addition to your little kitchen, fitting snuggly in any of your cupboards, and you can use it on any kind of stove top, gas range, or glass top as it has a dual feature.

This pot was first gifted to me by a friend, and she had been using it for quite a long time and wanted me to get a hold of this beauty as well.

The first thing I noticed was that it had a beautiful sleek finish and smooth look with a silver body.

The pot is very easy to handle and lift as it is not very huge and intimidating.

Immediately, I started to cook in this pot, and the first thing I tried was cooking my beef up to the point that it was melting in your mouth and falling from the bone.

Usually, getting my beef to this level of tenderization takes me a lot of time and gas, and almost 7-8 hours are dumped in just prepping my beef.

Depending on the cuts, it might even take me overnight to cook.

But according to the instructions manual that came along with the pot, this pressure cooker will only take 60 minutes to cook big chunks of beef.

I put that to test by filling up the pot quarter with the water and putting all my beef in there.

I had to fill in enough water so that I didn’t end up burning the food.

After the allotted 60 minutes, the whistle rang, which was pretty audible in the next room.

It is also very safe to use because the gasket releases all the steam itself and makes it safe for you to open the lid. This cooker is as easier as it can get when you’re pressure cooking.

This is definitely time saving and cooks up your food better than old boring pots.

I definitely would recommend the prestige pot to others as it made my life easier, and I believe that if you have a small family, this can be a great addition to your kitchen.

Pros
  • Versatile and cooks many dishes in no time.
  • The pot is made up of high quality material.
Cons
  • My gasket was worn down after a few uses, so that part might often need replacement.

  1. Hawkins HC20 Contura 2-Liter Pressure Cooker, Small, Aluminum:

Hawkins has always been an innovative brand when it comes to home cooking and is distinctively known as a top tier brand when it comes to quality and longevity.

In terms of overall performance I found this pressure cooker very useful and easy to handle.

Its anodized body makes it super heat conductive and it gets heated up pretty fast which cooks your food in even lesser time and saves more time for you to relax and put your feet up.

The Hawkins is a very famous brand globally and has been in the industry for a very long time.

I ordered this a while back from amazon and was impressed by the speedy delivery and the condition it was delivered to me in.

When I opened the parcel, the shape of this pot was very unique and I usually work with straight and long pots but it has a very different round design which was specifically made for easy stirring and easy removal of lid.

The cookers body and lid is made up of stainless steel so I know this pot will last for long.

Normally I try my cookers with simple recipes and for this I tried pressure cooking mutton curry.

As mutton is a tough meat and takes longer to cook so that made a perfect choice and I prepared all my ingredients which took me maximum 20 minutes.

The pot is compatible with a gas stove top and lucky for me, I have one in my home.

The thick anodized silver base looked pretty promising to me and felt like it would distribute the heat evenly across the pot.

On average, meat takes hours to cook but this cooker reached high pressure very fast and cooked mutton in 75% lesser time.

In this way a lot of my gas consumption was reduced and my food was also made with the nutrition intact.

For easy handling, they also provide heat resistant handles and I was able to lift the lid up without any difficulty.

The pressure was released from the gasket and the gasket didn’t even need any kind of replacement after many uses, so kudos on that.

All in all, I had a pretty smooth cooking ride with the Hawkins Contura cooker and as this is a small 2 liter pot, it takes little to no time in building pressure which cooks your food quicker.

Its size and shape makes the pot even easier to storage.

Pros
  • Unique design which allows easy removal of lid and easy stirring.
  • 5 years manufacturer’s warranty.
  • Does not corrode easily.
Cons
  • Not compatible with induction and only works on gas stoves.
  • Can only be washed by hand.

  1. Hawkins SSC20 Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker, 2 Liter, Silver:

Preparing meals in a hurry has never been easier with the Hawkins SSC 20 stainless steel pressure cooker.

It is specifically designed to maintain a high pressure even with low heat, and the best part is that it is compatible with gas and induction cook tops.

Hawkins is a brand that has been here for a long time and is not going anywhere as it provides quality and quantity to its customer.

The 2 liter pressure cookers are the best for personal daily cooking and get all your cooking done in no time.

As this pot is dual stove compatible, you don’t have to worry about getting another kind of stovetop in your house and continue working with whatever you have.

All the products from Hawkins have superior build, which gives them durability and longevity in the long run and makes them the best appliance to use in your kitchen.

I have been using this product myself for many years and never had a complaint with it.

It just took me some time to learn the closing and opening of the lid, but when the lid is closed, it seals securely, and pressure is built very quickly.

It has a heavy base which is made up of aluminum which ensures even heat distribution and cooks food from every side evenly.

I was amazed by the fact that this pressure cooker only took 15 minutes to cook black eyed peas, as they are very hard to cook and often take a long time to boil and become soft.

I tried cooking beef ribs in the cooker as well, just had to make sure that it had enough water to create steam and added the beef in with all the seasonings.

After 45 minutes, a loud burst of pressure occurred, and the steam started releasing downwards.

The steam releasing downwards from the vent served as an amazing safety mechanism as it did not burn my hand while I was trying to open the lid.

Opening the lid was a challenge until I figured out the proper way to do it, and after that, it was certainly easy.

My ribs came out delectable and full of flavor, tender to the core.

The pressure cooker also has double handles, which are inductive to heat and does not get hot while the pot is on high heat.

This pot has given me extreme comfortability in cooking, and I’m going to keep using this pot for daily chores.

So far, zero complaints, and I’m always left impressed as it is one heck of a pressure cooker that leaves no more room for improvement.

Pros
  • Heavy base made with aluminum.
  • Dual stove compatible.
  • Double handles on each side.
Cons
  • The opening and closing of lid might be difficult for someone who hasn’t used Hawkins before.
  1. Aroma Housewares ARC-994SB 2O2O Model Rice & Grain Cooker Slow Cook:

The first and only digital pressure cooker I liked within the 2 quart size limit is the aroma housewares rice and grain cooker.

It is definitely is very useful and efficient when cooking rice or any kind of dry ingredient.

Aroma is a brand that makes both manual and digital pressure cookers, and believe me, all of their products are very handy and work perfectly, doing what they are expected to do.

This particular model can prepare up to 4 cups of rice which is a very big quantity, and it doubles up after cooking.

This cooker was originally bought for the purpose of rice cooker and grain cooker.

I used to cook my white rice in a normal pot, and even though it was easy, but it wasn’t such a hands off experience as it is with my aroma pressure cooker.

This pot has presets for cooking of white rice, brown rice, risotto oatmeal, and steam function.

You can even change the timer and customize it according to your need.

In my home, we eat plain white rice, and it’s cooked on a daily basis.

So that’s the reason I’m always investing in new rice cookers, this time aroma digital rice cooker came into my reach, and I’m mildly impressed by how well it cooks my rice in half time.

I just needed to follow the instructions given in the manual and click on the white rice option.

The LED panel will show you the cooking time that’s left, and in the meanwhile, I take care of other chores around the house.

It also has a delay cooking option, so when I have to go somewhere, I simply set the delay timer for whenever I want the food to cook, and it’s perfect for every working woman like me.

Another amazing option is the keep warm option, where my rice is kept warm after cooking for up to 12 hours.

I also got an additional steamer basket with the package.

Even though the basket was a bit small, but it was enough for my personal usage.

Pros
  • Delay timer and keep warm option.
  • Nonstick inner pot, which does not scratch.
Cons
  • The cord can be a little short.

Where You can Use 2 Liter Pressure Cooker?

When I had a big pressure cooker of 8 quarts, it always annoyed me when I needed to make a small portion of rice or beans.

It was so much hassle to fill such a large vessel with water and ingredients and carry it to the stove.

Larger pots also get very heavy, but with a small pressure cooker, you can avoid all those difficulties and cook without any problem.

I have been using small pressure cookers of 2 quarts for a very long time as I don’t have a lot of people to cook for, and the food prepared in these cookers is enough for my little family of four.

In spite of the size, I can make various delicious dishes in lesser time than the big pots.

When using a small pressure cooker, the pressure builds up quickly and maintains itself, even on low heat, and provides me with a very hands off experience.

It ensures even heating throughout the pot and cooks my food deliciously.

A small cooker has also helped me immensely with the storage space as I have a little kitchen and not much space to keep big pots and appliances.

These small pots are a life saver as they don’t take as much space and even reduce your power and gas usage.

If you don’t have a large family to cook for or just need a personalized cooker to cook small meals, go for a small 2 quart cooker as they are ideal for all your domestic needs.
